Terms and Conditions
ADULT ART CLASSES & EVENTS:
BOOKING & PAYMENT: All bookings with our Art Tutors are subject to dates, places and locations being available and are usually awarded on a first come first served basis via the website bookings page or by speaking to Joanna. All fees are payable in full in advance to secure your place. Payments are processed via the website booking page by Paypal, Visa or MasterCard. Daytime classes are available on a pay-as-you-go basis and you may book in up to 2 hours before the start of the class. If a full term of daytime classes are paid for in advance there may be a discount offered.
Private / evening events must be paid for in advance in full (ideally 21 days beforehand) and a booking form completed outlining specifics of the service, venue and number of people attending.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS:
Cancellation policy for 'pay-as-you-go' daytime classes: It is possible to 're-schedule' your bookings online via your account up to 24hours before the class providing there are other spaces available. Re-scheduling allows you to change class time and location in the same week as original class. If you wish to move into another week of classes this will have to be arranged with Joanna. Short notice cancellations of bookings made within 24 hours of the class starting will be handled entirely at our discretion and will depend on the class in question, preparation time and stock purchases made by Escape2Art for that class.
Cancellation for After School Art bookings:
Please give us 2 weeks notice if you wish to cancel your term booking for the children's After School Art classes.
Cancellation policy for other events: Where there are substantial material costs and preparation time for privately organised events, public evening events and children's Arty Parties at least 21 days notice must be given if you wish to cancel or change to alternative dates. If 21 days notice is given you may receive a full refund or date change; within 20 days you must forfeit 25% of your booking's cost.
It is very rare that we have to cancel classes or events but we reserve the right to do so for reasons that are outside our control such as Covid or isolation requirement, Government mandated restrictions or bad weather. If Art Tutors are unable to teach the class we reserve the right to replace the art tutor for that session where possible. We will give refunds where an alternative Tutor is not available for the class or event concerned.
Escape2Art reserves the right to exclude individuals from classes if their behaviour is inconsiderate and / or disruptive to other attendees. Any outstanding classes booked for that individual will be refunded in full.
CLASS CONTENT: We reserve the right to change the daytime itinerary and specific content as may be necessary. Daytime classes schedule is shown on the bookings page on the website. The content of private events / parties organised through Escape2Art will be arranged in advance and once advance payment made and full details outlined on a booking form it will not be possible to change the theme or mini projects that are to be supplied.
VENUE: Monday and Thursday daytime classes and the majority of evening events are held at Quarry House, 16 Shortheath Road, Farnham GU9 8SR in the well lit family kitchen. Most Children's 'Arty Parties' or adult parties are hosted at other venues. Venues are booked and paid for by the customer and it is their responsibility to ensure that there is sufficient space, facilities and relevant insurance. Escape2Art will take every care to ensure that at the end of any event the venue is left as it was found.
COURSE MATERIALS: All art materials and some refreshments are provided and included in the cost of our classes. We aim to produce a set quantity of pieces during most of our Evening events and this is explained in detail on the booking page for each event. Escape2Art has to estimate the output of each event and plans the schedule accordingly to the best of its ability. Should the customer run out of time and not fulfil the expected output of such an event that is not the responsibility of Escape2Art. Unfinished items may be taken home to finish in a customers own time with their own materials.
It is our aim to use high quality artist materials so the creative process is as rewarding as possible and we can create art pieces that stand the test of time. All art materials used for private events remain the property of Escape2Art and will be taken away at the end of the booking.
CLOTHING & BELONGINGS: Painting and drawing classes can result in paint getting onto personal items and clothing. We advise you to wear old clothes or bring an apron and in the case of children's Arty Party's advise party guests to 'Dress for Mess'. Some paint / glue may also be wet when transported away from the classes so please consider this when taking items home. Where possible we are able to store until dry if preferred. Some materials used will stain clothes and belongings, Acrylic paints and some inks will not wash out of clothes so please bear this in mind. Where appropriate for young children's parties we will use water based paint but please be aware that sometimes the colour does stain despite manufacturers claims. Escape2Art will take every care but can take no responsibility for damages incurred at classes and your personal items are your own responsibility.
PHOTOS: We would like to take photos of the classes themselves and individual pieces of work, we will always ask your permission. These photos may be used for marketing in websites, social media, blogs or advertising media. If you do not wish to consent then please inform us during the class or event.
By booking onto an art class or event on our website you are accepting these terms and conditions and agree to be bound by them.
CHILDREN'S ART CLASSES:
BOOKING & PAYMENT: All bookings with our Art Tutors are awarded on a first come first served basis via the website bookings page or by speaking to Joanna. Fees shown for the 'After School Art' are for full terms and are payable in full and in advance to secure your place. Payments are processed via the website booking page by Paypal, Visa or MasterCard. Classes usually hold a maximum of 8 students aged 9 years and above to maintain Ofsted and NSPCC recommended adult to child ratios. We split the year groups into groups to ensure the teaching style can be made as age specific as possible.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: If it is your first visit to us we offer a refund for the remaining weeks as long as you let us know your decision to not continue within 24 hours of the first class.

No refunds are given for classes missed due to student holidays or illness. Escape2Art reserves the right to exclude children from future classes if their behaviour is unruly or discruptive to the other students. In this case the remains of the classes booked for that child will be refunded.
CLASS CONTENT & MATERIALS: We reserve the right to change the course itinerary and specific content as may be necessary. Children's After School Art classes programme will largely follow the Adult Daytime Classes schedule to ensure a broad base of artistic opportunity across various interesting media and topics. The After School Art Programme is designed with children of at least 9 years old in mind. Art materials will be provided and the cost included in the price of the classes. Materials to be used include Watercolour and Acrylic paints, Graphite Pencils, Watercolour Pencils, Soft and Oil Pastels and Charcoals. All materials will be high quality and child safe and washable as much as possible.
VENUE: Joanna Spragg owner of Escape2Art will teach Monday evening art with other Art Tutors working at other locations including their own homes. Details will be arranged and explained prior to your booking. Please note that most Art Tutors do have family pets in their homes so we cannot gaurentee an allergen free environment. After School Art will take place in the large well lit areas. Classes usually run for between 8-10 children which ties in with Ofsted recommended adult to child ratios for after school clubs at this age range. Risk Assessments have been undertaken for the location and health and safety of the children will be considered at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Escape2Art is responsible for the children once they are dropped off with a staff member for the duration of the class only. After School Art students must be picked up promptly by parents or a guardian Any collection by friends or meeting points should be discussed with the child themselves and with the teacher concerned. Escape2Art reserves the right to charge for late collection of children at a rate of £5 per 10 minutes.
POLICIES & PROCEDURES: Escape2Art is not required to register with Ofsted due to the fact that is providing one specific activity (Art & Craft) and children attend for less than two hours a day. As a result we are not legally required to have inspections or statutory regulation in the following areas but we take the safety of students very seriously and have therefore ensured that the following are held by all Art Tutors that teach children: Enhanced DBS, Paediatric First Aid qualification & NSPCC Safe guarding Certificate. Risk assessments, adult to child ratios and fire safety have also been considered. All certificates are available to view on request. Full details and registration documents must be filled in for each child at the beginning of the term.

TERMS FOR THE COMMISSIONING OF ARTWORK:
DEFINITION OF ARTWORK: The term artwork refers to an acrylic painting by artist Joanna Spragg owner of Escape2Art. The artwork may take a number of different forms including: an original abstract painting concept, a version of a painting previously painted by the artist, or a painting that is inspired by a photo (artist or customer’s own images only please). There will be at least one meeting usually at the client’s address to see where the artwork will hang this will enable a full consultation to take place to decide on requirements. Style, theme, colour palette, format, style, size and budget are the most obvious details but there will be many more details teased out from our discussions. This part of the process is the most important and the most fun, here we also tie in details about house or room décor, colour themes or any extra little inputs that would make the piece extra special. Details of construction, materials and precise arrangements will be outlined in a confirmation email once these meetings have taken place and before work begins.
COST AND PAYMENT: There is a pricing structure that will be explained to prospective clients when considering a commission, most of the sizes can also be framed for additional cost if required. Once details have been agreed the client will pay 50% when placing the order and 50% upon the completion of the Work. Instruction and order will be confirmed on email which will form our contract.
PROGRESS: The artist will endeavour to keep clients informed of progress against the agreed timeline and a client can ask for progress reports or to see the painting during the process if they wish.
CANCELLATION: If for any reason you wish to terminate our arrangement or reject the painting payment must be made for work done to that point. The purchaser would not need to make the final payment, the artist keeps a proportion of the initial payment that corresponds to the proportion of work carried out. The artist is allowed to retain the work which may be finished, exhibited and sold elsewhere.
DATE OF DELIVERY: Artwork can usually be completed within 60 days from the date of order but this will depend on other orders underway at the time. The delivery date can be agreed at point of order. The completion date shall be extended if the artist may be disabled by illness preventing progress of the Work. The completion date shall also be extended in the event of delays caused by events beyond the control of the Artist, including but not limited to fire, theft, strikes, shortages of materials, and Acts of God. Time shall not be considered of the essence with respect to the completion of the Work.
Shipping and Installation: The painting shall be delivered or posted to a prior agreed address as specified by the purchaser. If any special installation is required, the costs of such installation will be the responsibility of the Purchaser. Postage costs will be covered by the client in addition to the cost of the painting.
OWNERSHIP: Title to the Work shall remain with the Artist until the Artist is paid in full.
Copyright: The Artist reserves all rights of reproduction and all copyrights in the Work, the preliminary design, and any incidental works made in the creation of the Work. The Artist shall receive authorship credit in connection with the Work. Images and/or descriptions of the Work may not be reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic, mechanical, photocopying, recording, or otherwise, without prior written permission of the Art
