Class Outline

Still life but with a lovely aesthetic twist - we'll be working on brown paper with charcoal and chalk. A gentle observational sketching class, this will give you the flexibility to ease in gently or challenge yourself with something more tricky. We'll be using artist grade willow charcoal and soft chalks with blending tools and erasers. There will be lots of objects to choose from so you can make a straight forward study or a more complex composition using multiple items. You'll be shown how to get started on your composition and we'll make sure that you consider all the elements of drawing such as line, shape, tone and form. You can challenge yourself as much as you like so this class is great for beginners or more experienced artists alike.
